hi, i’m Ava!

I am a photographer based in Jacksonville, Florida. Born and raised in south Louisiana, I relocated shortly after graduating high school in 2023.

My style is inspired by the misfortune I had with working with my very old, very broken, and first camera I ever used. Any photo I took, despite correcting the ISO, flash, and shutter speed, always came out dark and severely underexposed. My high school graduation and especially prom photos were humorously dark, but I hold them dearly for how mysterious and slightly off-putting they are. A lot of the beautiful photographs I’ve taken with it were by accident, only being able to have the attention on the sunsets.

The music I listen to on a daily basis heavily influences the way I plan and edit my freelance shoots. Over the last year or so - surf rock, psychedelic rock, shoegaze, and post-punk that feels fuzzy, restless, and distorted motivates how I capture the unity between boldness and warmth.
